NAPSG Foundation is strategically headquartered in Washington, DC, which puts us in close vicinity to our Federal agency partners. We have numerous initiatives where collaboration with the Federal government are key to success. Below are just a few of the ways that we are working with the Federal government to further our common goals:
- Collaborating with the US Department of Transportation's (DOT) Federal Rail Administration and Pipeline & Hazardous Materials Administration to help facilitate transportation-related information sharing with local public safety practitioners.
- Received support from the Federal Emergency Management Agency & DHS to develop and deliver training across the US on GIS for Situational Awareness & Life Safety. Check out the Events page to learn about the 6 training sessions associated with this partnerhip.
- Held educational briefing sessions on the need & value of GIS for public safety for senior staff of various Federal agencies, including but not limited; the White House, DHS, Federal Emergency Management Agency, DOT, US Fire Administration, National Fire Training Academy, and others.
- Offical partner with US Departments of Defense, Justice, and Homeland Security in the Technologies for Critical Incident Preparedness (TCIP) Conference - Click Here to learn more about TCIP
- Collaborating with the US Department of Homeland Security's (DHS) Science & Technology Directorate to stand-up the GIS Working Group in support of the Virtual USA Initiative - and also continue participation on the Virtual USA Executive Council of the Strategic Resource Group.
Our partnerships with Federal agencies take many forms depending on the needs of the local practitioner communities they support. We are always interested in exploring new partnerships with other Federal agecnies.
