The Homeland Infrastructure Foundation-Level Data (HIFLD) Open will be discontinued. This change will impact existing products and data services listed in the HIFLD Open Catalog.
Details
- HIFLD Open will no longer be available on the geoplatform.
- Layers hosted only on HIFLD Open will move to HIFLD Secure (some of these will have new URLs).
- Select HIFLD Open layers will be searchable via portals managed by the data provider.
When will this change take affect
The GMO team is actively planning this transition and expect it to be completed before the end of the fiscal year (September 30, 2025).
What do DHS mission partners need to do
- Follow the instructions for creating DHS-authorized Login.gov account.
- You will be prompted to complete a form to request a GII account.
- Once your account is activated, create a MyHIFLD profile.
- Complete the form and follow the prompts to sign the DUA.
- The HIFLD Team will notify you by email of approval/denial.
What do ALL users need to do
- Once the GMO announces the transition date, users will have three weeks to access or download data via HIFLD Open.
- To assist in the transition of user processes, the GMO will provide full documentation of the affected layers, including links to data provider portals, as appropriate.
