Commemorating the 20th Anniversary of Hurricanes Katrina & Rita

The National Alliance for Public Safety GIS (NAPSG) Foundation is pleased to announce the 10th annual Innovation Summit for Preparedness & Resilience (InSPIRE), which will be held May 28 & 29 in collaboration with local, state, Federal, and private sector GIS professionals who were called to duty for Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.

InSPIRE 2025 will focus on the significant impact of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita on disaster response. Sessions will highlight experiences from these pivotal events on GIS technology, examining the evolution of GIS and public safety over the past two decades. Attendees will have a unique opportunity to explore how GIS was utilized during the response and recovery phases, and how it has influenced current GIS practices.

Also, in addition to the 2-day Summit, attendees will be offered no-cost technical training on the National Hurricane Program’s Decision Support Tool (HURREVAC). This 3-hr, post-summit training will be conducted by Sea Island Software on Friday, May 30.

For more details on summit and post-summit training sessions, please visit the Agenda Highlights page.
